Aurea Tanttu (Finland, 1996) is a painter who works primarily with oil colour on wood panel and jute, as well as ink on paper. Tanttu’s artistic practice is an inquiry into the intensification of color, perception and memory. As an enduring vessel for communication and self-discovery, painting lends itself to the artist as a language of mammalian tenderness, sentimentality, and spiritual emergency.

Aurea graduated from the Fine Art Painting department at Wimbledon College of Arts (University of the Arts London) in 2019, and is currently completing her master’s degree at Konstfack.
